Do jungle tours and wildlife safaris constitute ecotourism? Do you always check out a tour operator before booking to see how eco it really is?

Just wondering. I like to do these kinds of tours, but I always feel a little bad about it, becauwe I'm not sure if they're really eco or not. I guess it's good to chefk out credentials before booking? But what questions should I be asking?

Thanks!!

I guess they could be...you'd have to look through their website to see if they support fair trade or if they donate proceeds to any reserves in their area, or what other eco-actions they participate in.

If they consider themselves to be eco, they should include all this on their site.

I'm not that sure about it... messing up animal's habitats and routines just because you want to watch them from eg. a jeep doesn't really cut it as eco for me. I don't know about everyone else.
