Do you only choose eco accommodations if the locations are green? If so, why is that? Do you think that’s really being eco friendly?

Not necessarily. At least for me, it's always a choice of two things, location plus eco settings in the hotels. It doesn't take much to be eco: urban eco hotels can spare more in carbon footprint from their guests walking by being nearby to the center, than saving up on dry cleaning but being too far away from the places one usually goes to visit once in a vacation.

I used to think that an eco vacation had to be related with non polluted destinations, like beaches, jungles or mountains. Now I've learned that there are lots of ways to be eco everywhere you go. But a lot of people just don't get it!

I think that a lot of hotels in urban settings are starting to become more eco, through retrofitting practices and things like the LEED certification program, which still makes these hotels a better choice over a non-eco hotel in an urban environment.
