China Summary
China, the largest country demographically and fourth geographically, is experiencing a boom in ecotourism. Although traveling to China has long been synonymous with visiting the Great Wall or Beijing’s Forbidden City, there is much more to see. China’s vast terrain and varied climate make it the sixth most biologically diverse nation on the planet. With Hainan island, called by many a tropical paradise, and sacred mountains evoking spiritual serenity, this magical country has plenty to offer ecologically conscious travelers. From the jagged peaks of the Himalayas to the powerful Yangtze River flowing into the East China Sea, China offers the visitor a wide variety of landscapes to awaken the senses.

Great experience
Finally went to China and chose some interesting spots. Now I’m writing from Beijing, my first and last stop. The trip has been a blast, with an adventure always around the corner. China has a wealth of natural and cultural treasures, most of them unknown to us in the West. The people can’t usually speak a work of English, but I found out that doesn’t stop them from talking to you. And they’ll go on and on, too. They’re very curious, but I don’t mind. A tip: take a phrase book, but don’t try to pronounce anything, just point to the phrase that you wanna say.

wonderful views
Climbing Jade Dragon Mountain with my guide was an unforgettable experience. I could see beautiful views of the mountain from my window at Banyan Tree, and couldn’t wait to climb up. Fortunately I had great weather, so the climb was perfect.

Jade Dragon Mountain
There are numerous places to visit, from historic sites to more natural environments. The Yulong Mountain, also known as the Jade Dragon Mountain is a beautiful sanctuary for a variety of flora and fauna. Pudacuo National Park, a bit far from where I’d stayed, was also beautiful and worth the visit.
