Bylakuppe Golden Temple
It’s a great temple with lots of monks dressed in red and a beautiful garden you could get lost in. the golden Buddhas are also spectacular, as are the wall paintings. I highly recommend a short visit to the place.

the market
although I mentioned the market as a great place to visit, I should warn you that it's usually packed with tourists and may feel a little too crowded for some.

enchanting
All in all it’s a nice place to go. The hotel we stayed at, the Green Hotel, was very charming, with impeccable service. I posted a review about it if you want to know more. There are plenty of temples nearby, like the Hoysaleswara temple, dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva.
My wife particularly loved Devaraja Fruit & Vegetable Market, where she bought many of the souvenirs we took back to the States.
